My test today was the Hypobaric chamber where we would simulate an altitude of 27,000ft within 5 minutes. Hypobaric Chambers are Used to simulate aircraft altitude conditions for pilot and space training, evaluating medical conditions at altitude, train and test pilots in altitude conditions, and simulate the rapid decompression of an aircraft.
The Altitude Chamber can simulate atmospheric conditions up to 100,000 feet. The main testing is to establish my physiology of high altitude exposure, physiology of respiration & circulation and the potential effects of hypoxia & hyperventilation. Being an avid mountain climber with many successful summits, the doctors were pleased with my results. The success of this experiment is to maintain a high oximeter reading at altitude with non supplementary oxygen.
